Not only is Cañada College one of the state's leading community colleges in terms of completion and transfer rates, but this relatively small campus is one of the few nationally to offer bachelor's degrees through its University Center.”

The community college most recently received a $3.3 million grant to fund students’ bachelors degrees at the new University Center.

“This is a major grant that will literally transform the college and the Center for International and University Studies,” said Cañada’s Interim President, Jim Keller, in a statement. “The grant will fund additional personnel needed to put into place clear pathways and support services for students who enter the college seeking bachelor’s degrees.”

The five-year grant from the U.S. Department of Education’s Developing Hispanic-Serving Institutions Program will particularly help a large number of high-need and Hispanic students at the college.
