Two owners of a Redwood City-area gold shop who allegedly fired an assault rifle and shotgun with a toddler in the room bailed out of jail hours after their arrests Thursday night, the San Mateo County District Attorney confirmed Wednesday.

Redwood City residents Pedro Aguilar-Baltazar, 23, and 34-year-old Jorge Conde-Cardona, were arrested on suspicion of child endangerment, negligent firearm discharge and illegal possession of firearm, District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe said.

Charges have yet to be filed by the district attorney's office, however.

The men are owners of We Buy Gold, a small shop located at 3301 Middlefield Road in unincorporated Redwood City, where the incident took place last week around 6:40 p.m., the San Mateo County Sheriff's Office reported.

San Mateo County sheriff's deputies responded to a call of multiple shots fired. When deputies arrived, they found the business to be locked, but saw four men and a small child inside, according to sheriff's spokeswoman Rebecca Rosenblatt.

Several firearms, expanded casings and stolen computer equipment were allegedly found inside the business.

An investigation determined that an AR-15-type assault rifle and a shotgun were negligently discharged inside the building, according to officials.

A 3-year-old boy was inside at the time of the shots being fired, but no one was injured by the gunfire, according to the sheriff's office. The boy was released to his mother.

Aguilar-Baltazar posted $50,000 bail just after 3 a.m. Friday, Wagstaffe said. He is due back in court on Feb. 13 at 8:30 a.m.

Conde-Cardona posted $50,000 bail closer to 6 a.m. Friday. He will be arraigned on charges on Feb. 10 at 9 a.m.
