The Big Day Is Here: the President Comes to Redwood City

Whether you are excited or not for the President’s arrival to Redwood City, the town will definitely be abuzz with his visit.

The Big Day Is Here: the President Comes to Redwood City

It’s not the first time a US President has visited Redwood City—President Herbert Hoover in 1932 during the Great Depression. But this visit will still be memorable nonetheless.

Residents and have been eagerly waiting the arrival while others on Patch's Facebook page commented that they will be staying home to avoid the traffic.. However, have expressed concern about the impact to customers’ reduced patronage because of hours.

Though some businesses will have to close down entirely due to mandated by the secret service, others will be allowed to .

posted on its Facebook page: “We were originally told we had to close for security purposes surrounding President Obama's visit on May 23rd, but we have JUST NOW, May 21st evening, been informed we will be allowed to open. We apologize for the inconvenience to our customers before the new information was just released.

SAKURA IS OPEN NORMAL HOURS ON WED., MAY 23rd FOR THE PRESIDENTIAL VISIT. COME OUT AND JOIN US THAT DAY!!!!!!"

Redwood City Patch will also be covering the event, but any of your unique photos would be appreciated! We’re compiling a slideshow, so please email any photos to stacie@patch.com.
