JUST IN: Transformer Fire In Rohnert Park Sunday Evening SEE PHOTOS

Police and fire crews are responding to a transformer fire tonight in Rohnert Park.

Pacific Gas & Electric is reporting that 1,904 customers in the area are without power, and workers are at the scene.

The affected residences are in the East Cotati Avenue and Camino Colegio region, west of Bodway Parkway and near Sonoma State University.

A photographer at the scene said foam is being used to put out the blaze. (See photos.)

The outage was first reported at 7:15 p.m., and the company’s web site states that restoration is expected tonight at 10:45 p.m.

PG&E has not yet issued an official cause of the fire. Patch will update when more info is available.
