Electrical Fire Breaks Out at Naval Hospital San Diego
BREAKING: Smoke from the fire was seen from nearby Balboa Park.

SAN DIEGO, CA — An electrical fire Monday afternoon at Naval Medical Center San Diego sent smoke billowing into the air and alarmed some people.
Just after 2 p.m., Naval Medical Center San Diego confirmed via Twitter there was a "small electrical fire" in a contractor's trailer. There were no injuries in the fire that caused minor damage and is now under control, according to hospital officials.
Navy Spokesman Brian O'Rourke told City News Service the non-injury blaze erupted about 1 p.m. near a multi-use building undergoing renovation at the hospital complex in the eastern reaches of Balboa Park.

Federal firefighters had the flames under control within about an hour.
The fire remains under investigation.
