Boy Drowns In San Francisco

The fire department pulled him from the water off Crissy Field.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A 14-year-old boy drowned in San Francisco Monday afternoon.

The fire department reported around 2:15 that they were looking for the boy in the water off Crissy Field. San Francisco Police Lt. Jon Baxter told reporters that the boy was swimming with a group of friends all around the same age. When the boy started struggling in the water, the other kids realized that they couldn't save their friend so they called 911.

A rescue diver found the boy about 25 yards off shore. CPR was performed and he was rushed to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
