False Fire Alarm Triggers Evacuation at SFO
Travelers were told to evacuate Terminal Two at San Francisco International Airport Monday after a fire alarm was activated.

SAN FRANCISCO, CA -- A faulty fire alarm at San Francisco International Airport caused travelers to evacuate from Terminal Two during one of the busiest holiday travel weekends of the year Monday afternoon.
The fire alarm went off at about 1:30 p.m. Monday and remained on for about a half hour, said Chuck Navigante, Airport Duty Manager. An automated warning system instructed travelers to evacuate the building even though there was no official evacuation order, he said.
Travelers rushed to evacuate the boarding area, but authorities quickly determined that there was no danger.

"There was merit to the fire alarm," Navigante. "It was probably a faulty alarm."
Several travelers took to twitter, trying to figure out why they were being evacuated from the terminal.

Fire alarm went off at SFO. Told everyone it was "an emergency" and we need to leave the building. False alarm. Undo. That was nuts. pic.twitter.com/9OWrSFwtDt
