San Francisco Police Investigate Homicide in Potrero Hill neighborhood

911 callers reported hearing gunshots just after noon on Wednesday.

SAN FRANCISCO — San Francisco police are investigating a homicide in the city's Potrero Hill neighborhood this afternoon.

Police began receiving phone calls about a shooting in the area of 23rd and Dakota streets at 12:09 p.m., according to Officer Giselle Talkoff.

A male victim was located and police and paramedics provided aid and performed CPR, but he was pronounced dead at the scene, Talkoff said.

No arrest has been made and no suspect information was immediately available, Talkoff said. Police and crime scene investigators remained at the scene this afternoon.
