Sunday, Dec. 2
Backed up drain: 5:48 a.m. Tunstead Avenue and San Anselmo Avenue. Officer advised the drain was backed up and requested the San Anselmo Department of Public Works (DPW) respond. DPW was advised.
Clogged rains: 8:05 a.m. Oak Knoll Avenue and San Anselmo Avenue. RP (reporting person) reported the drains at the noted location were clogged causing Oak Knoll Avenue to flood. DPW was advised.
Overflowing sewer drain: 8:15 a.m. Broadmoor Avenue. DPW responded to check on a report of a sewer drain that was overflowing.
Tree down: 9:29 a.m. Ancho Vista Avenue. Officer was flagged down by a citizen reporting a tree was down and blocking the roadway. A tree service later called and advised the tree was removed and the roadway was reopened.
Clogged rains: 10:32 a.m. San Anselmo Avenue and Bolinas Avenue. Anonymous RP reported clogged drains downtown and the RP was upset that business owners were clearing drains. DPW was advised and they were already in the area clearing drains.
Assault: 1:05 p.m. San Anselmo Police Department on San Anselmo Avenue. RP reported he was in an altercation with a male subject on Dec. 2 and the man threw a lit cigarette in his face. Officer contacted the RP who declined signing a citizen’s arrest, but requested the subject be contacted and admonished. Officer provided advice and would attempt to contact the other party involved.
Photo evidence: 9:08 p.m. Cedar Street. RP reported she took a picture of her neighbor walking his dog and allowing it to defecate in everyone's yard. Officer contacted the RP, but was unable to provide advice due to breaking for a priority detail.
Saturday, Dec. 1
Fallen tree: 7:28 a.m. Kensington Court and Seminary Road. RP advised the roadway would be closed for approximately an hour to remove a fallen tree. RP called back and advised the roadway was reopened and the tree was removed.
Fire department assist: 7:51 p.m. Ross Avenue. RP reported her oven was clicking when not being used and there was a smell gas. Officer and Fire Department responded; the smell was no longer present. FD assisted the RP with her oven.
Man with a handgun: 10:18 p.m. Crescent Road. RP reported he was driving in the area and his headlights illuminated a male subject who was waving a handgun in the air. The subject appeared disoriented and may have been under the influence. The subject was pacing and didn't appear to have a direction of travel. Officers checked the area with negative results.
Tree down: 11:27 p.m. Redwood Road. RP reported a tree fell and was blocking the roadway. Officer and FD responded and cleared the roadway.
Friday, Nov. 30
Wires down: 12:13 a.m. Bay Tree Lane. Resident reported wires were arching on a power pole due to the wind. Caller was transferred to Ross Valley FD, who advised they are aware of it but unable to do anything further at this time. Officer advised this is on the back side of Kenrick and probably related.
Small branches: 2:31 a.m. Sir Francis Drake Blvd. and San Anselmo. Officer removed 3 small branches from the roadway.
Tree down: 7:36 a.m. Olive Avenue. Citizen reported a tree branch on a power line. Prior to police arrival, a citizen had taken care of the problem.
Wires down: 7:45 a.m. Butterfield Road. A citizen reported wires down on the sidewalk in the area. FD was advised. DPW advised the barricades, caution tape and high voltage signs have been placed. PG&E arrived, and took care of the live wires. A message was left for DPW to remove the branch in the median, near 36 Butterfield.
Tree branch in the creek: 8:09 a.m. Lincoln Court. Citizen reported a tree branch has fallen in the creek and may be causing a dam to form. At this time the water is flowing. David Craig, with San Anselmo DPW, advised he has seen the limb, at this time there is no problem, and he will get the limb out later in the day.
Tree into creek: 10:46 a.m. Glen Road and Creek Road. A citizen reported a tree fell across the creek and may cause flooding. RP requests DPW to handle. DPW was advised.
Petty theft: 3:30 p.m. Savannah Avenue. Officer advised he was being flagged down. Determined a citizen wanted to report that her unlocked vehicle was entered sometime overnight between Nov. 29 and Nov. 30. Taken was a GPS receiver, unknown value and unknown serial number. There is no suspect info.
Log in creek: 3:32 p.m. Lincoln Court. Citizen advised of a log in the creek area that was bumping up against the bridge. The information was passed on to DPW. DPW responded to the area and has called for a tree service to take care of the problem.
Petty theft: 9:37 p.m. Savannah Avenue. Resident reported his unlocked vehicle was entered sometime between 8 p.m. hours on Nov. 28 and 8 a.m. on Nov. 29. Taken was a leather jacket, approx. loss: $250. There is no suspect info and RP declined contact. Beat unit advised for extra patrol.
Thursday, Nov. 29
Noise complaint: 1:35 a.m. Grove Hill Avenue North. Resident reported her female neighbor came home about 12:45 a.m. and has been outside yelling at a male subject ever since. The residence was checked and both subjects were seen going inside. Officers monitored the area for several minutes, and it remained quiet.
Suspicious UPS: 7:15 p.m. Suffield Avenue. A male subject knocked on her door and said, "UPS." RP was afraid to open the door because she can hear more than one voice and didn't see or hear a truck. RP canceled while en-route after she looked out a window and saw a package on her porch.
Power outage: 9:06 p.m. San Anselmo Police Department, San Anselmo Avenue. Officer advised there was a power surge at the station and that the phones and computers are currently not working. UPDATE: Marin IT responded and the phone lines were repaired.
Tree down: 10:29 p.m. Center Blvd. Officer advised she was removing a tree branch from the roadway. The roadway was cleared.
Tree down: 11:52 p.m. Scenic Avenue. Anonymous RP reported a tree blocking a lane of traffic on scenic near San Anselmo Avenue. Tree branch was moved to the side of the road and DPW was advised for its further removal.
Wednesday, Nov. 28
Citizen assist: 8:56 a.m. Terrace Avenue. A citizen reported via 9-1-1 her disabled 65-year-old daughter fell out of the bed and the RP cannot get her into her wheel chair. Handled by Ross Valley FD.
Injured deer: 9:42 a.m. Greenfield Avenue and Spring Grove Avenue. A citizen reported an injured deer in the roadway.
Domestic violence: 5:50 p.m. PD Station on San Anselmo Avenue. Resident advised she has been asking her ex-boyfriend to leave the apartment since Nov. 14, but he has refused. Today at 4 p.m., when the RP asked him to leave again, subject hit her in the hands and legs. RP advised she tried to call the police, but subject took her cell phone, car keys, and left to go to work. Novato Police was requested to check an address in their jurisdiction and located the subject, Elmer Arnoldo Galicia Mijangos, was booked at Marin County Jail for domestic violence, robbery and destroying a cell phone.
