Three Alarm Fire Seen From 57 Freeway

A three alarm fire near Anaheim's Honda Center sent thick black smoke into the Orange County skyline Thursday morning, visible from the 57.

ANAHEIM, CA - A column of thick dark smoke shot skyward in Anaheim Thursday morning near the 57 Freeway. The fire was centered in a single story 12 unit building, on the 1600 block of South Sinclair Street. Nearly 60 firefighters from coordinating agencies arrived on the scene to keep the fire to four small units of a 12 unit building, according to Anaheim Fire and Rescue Sgt. Daron Wyatt said over Twitter.

"The Anaheim Fire and Rescue are calling knockdown on the Sinclair fire," Wyatt stated. "Excellent work by your Anaheim Firefighters along with Garden Grove Fire and the City of Orange Fire Department."

Heavy smoke was visible from 57 freeway near the Honda Center and Angels Stadium befire 8 a.m. Thursday morning, according to Anaheim Fire.

Reports from the scene at 9 a.m. show that firefighters have extinguished the blaze. The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to Wyatt.
