The Amanda Nejat case came to a conclusion Thursday in the Alameda County Superior Court in Pleasanton.

The 46-year-old Danville mother, who left her 11-week-old twins in her Escalade while she returned items to Nordstrom, was ordered by Judge Jacob Blea to stay away from the Pleasanton retailer, take parenting classes and pay a $1,000 fine, the Mercury News reported.

Nejat pleaded not guilty in March to two counts of child endangerment but switched to no contest as part of the plea deal, the Merc report stated.

The plea also requires Nejat to take 26 parenting classes and 52 counseling sessions.

If Nejat sticks to the plea, the judgment could be expunged after two years.

Pleasanton Police arrested after someone noticed in a parked Cadillac Escalade in the Stoneridge Mall parking lot.

The witness called police and mall security and when the mother — who turned out to be Nejat — returned, she was arrested.

Based on security camera footage, Pleasanton Police officer Larry Cox said the infants were left alone for at least 40 minutes.

Nejat was arrested on the spot. Her husband picked up the babies and took them home, Cox said.
