Check out these homes, two of which are listed at close to $6 million

The Most Expensive Homes For Sale in Central, Southern Alameda Costa
There still aren't a lot of homes for sale in the Bay Area and the ones that are on the market continue to cost more.

A r eport released this week by DataQuick showed that home sales in the Bay Area were down 12 percent in December from the previous December.

It also showed that the median price paid for a Bay Area home last month was $548,500, a 24 percent increase over December 2012. The price was slightly lower than the median sale price in November.

With that in mind, we thought we'd take another look at the most expensive homes for sale in the region.

In Union City,  this five-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom house at 4424 Canterbury Way is listed at $785,000.

In Castro Valley,  this five-bedroom, four-bathroom home on 123 acres at 7324 Crow Canyon Road is listed at $5.8 million.

In Fremont,  this six-bedroom, 11-bathroom home on 2 acres at 44555 Overlook Terrace  is listed at just under $6 million.
