Warriors' Draymond Green Arrested in Michigan

Green was involved in an altercation at a restaurant with another man, according to local police.

Golden State Warriors star forward Draymond Green was arrested in East Lansing, Michigan Sunday.

The Warriors released the following statement: "We are aware of news involving Draymond Green in Michigan over the weekend. At this point, we are collecting information and will have no further comment until we have a better understanding of the situation."

ESPN quotes East Lansing police as saying, "It was basically an altercation between two guys. There's no injuries. He was released with a $200 bond on Sunday." ESPN also reports that if Green is convicted, he could face a maximum of 93 days in jail and a $500 fine. Arraignment is scheduled for July 20.

Green is currently on the roster for the US Olympic team to play in the Summer Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The games are scheduled to start just two weeks after the arraignment. The games are planned for August 5 - 21.

Green averaged 14.0 points per game for the Warriors last season, and grabbed 9.5 rebounds. However, he was suspended for Game 5 of the NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers, which many feel allowed the Cavs to gain control of the championship series.

Green is a Michigan native who played for Michigan State in East Lansing. He was a 2012 All-American and scored 1,517 points while nabbing 1,096 rebounds during his college career.
