20,000 Marin Residents Eligible But Not Registered To Vote: Registrar

Marin County is participating in National Voter Registration Day and hopes those not registered will attend one of the several events.

MARIN COUNTY, CA — In recognition of National Voter Registration Day, Tuesday, Sept. 27, citizens will have the opportunity to register in several Marin County communities. The last day to register to vote in the November election is Oct. 24, only a month away.

“Your vote is your voice, and we hope the 20,000 people who are eligible but not registered to vote will take advantage of one of the many opportunities to participate in our voter registration events,” said Veda Florez, Communications Outreach Consultant for the Elections Department.

This is a nonpartisan voter registration effort. Here is the schedule of events:

Sept. 27, Tuesday

  • College of Marin Main Quad, Kentfield campus, 11:30 a.m.–3 p.m.
  • Dominican University cafeteria, San Rafael, 11:30 a.m.–1:30 p.m.
  • Novato farmers market, Grant Avenue, 5–7 p.m.

Sept. 28, Wednesday, for the West Marin Community

  • Spanish-language voter education event, West Marin School large gym, Point Reyes Station, 6:30–8:30 p.m.

Sept. 29, Thursday

  • Downtown San Rafael farmers market, Fourth Street, 5–7 p.m.

Those who have changed addresses since the last election need to re-register in order to vote in the correct precinct.

Anyone may register to vote at the Elections Department, Suite 121, Marin County Civic Center, 3501 Civic Center Drive, weekdays 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or online at Registertovote.ca.gov. If you would like to hold a voter registration event or volunteer to staff a voter registration event, call Florez at 415-299-0035 to participate.
