Gov. Jerry Brown Reappoints San Rafael Man To California Water Commission

Armando Quintero​, a 61-year-old from San Rafael,​ has served on the commission since 2014.​

SAN RAFAEL, CA – A San Rafael man has been reappointed to the California Water Commission, Gov. Jerry Brown announced Tuesday.

Armando Quintero, 61, has served on the commission, which requires Senate confirmation, since 2014.

In addition to his work on the commission, Quintero has been executive director at the University of California, Merced’s Sierra Nevada Research Institute since 2015, where he was director of development from 2008 to 2015. He was an independent environmental educator from 1998 to 2008.

Quintero, a Democrat, served in several positions at the U.S. National Park Service from 1977 to 1998. He is also vice president of the Marin Municipal Water District Board of Directors and a member of the George Wright Society Board of Directors.
