The Marin County Sheriff's Office has arrested a Marin City man on suspicion of human trafficking of a victim under the age of 18, the department says.
The arrest was preceded by a month-long investigation, which began back on March 19 when a runaway girl was found at a San Rafael motel, sheriff's Lt. Scott Anderson said.
"An investigation revealed that the minor was involved in prostitution for over one year," Anderson said.
Deputies identified a suspect and arrested Terrell Bland Jr., 25, of Marin City at 10:30
p.m. Tuesday on suspicion of human trafficking, according to Anderson.
Bland was booked into Marin County Jail for that offense and on
suspicion of pimping, unlawful sexual intercourse and oral copulation with a
minor and possession of a firearm by a felon, Anderson said.
In connection with the case, deputies served a search warrant at 49 Cole Drive and conducted a
probation search on Buckelew Street in Marin City, Anderson said. Deputies seized handguns and ammunition during that search, he said.
