Update: The search for a missing Marin woman in Sequoia National Park was suspended Saturday after a body was discovered, according to the Marin Independent Journal

The body was found roughly 1,000 feet above Monarch Lake, where cold temperatures have reportedly been “challenging.”

Rescue teams are searching Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks for a missing San Rafael woman, according to the Marin Independent Journal.

Johnnie Jean Daniel, an attendance clerk at Mill Valley’s Tamalpais High School, was expected to return from her hiking trip on Monday.  

Daniel, 65, is an experienced hiker who often goes backpacking and hiking alone, according to the IJ report.  Click here to read the entire IJ article.
