Friday, Saturday and Sunday:

Murder, remorse and madness stalk this bloody story of ambition and fate in Shakespeare’s Macbeth. Catch the professional, award-winning Marin Shakespeare Company as they present their summer season outside and under the stars.

If you go: Single tickets are $35 for general admission; $30 for seniors and $20 for students. Performances are 8 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays and 4 p.m. Sundays at Forest Meadows Amphitheatre, 1475 Grand Avenue, , in San Rafael.  The theater opens one hour prior to show time for picnicking. Bring your own picnic or purchase snacks at the Theatre Café. Warm clothing, jackets, blankets are recommended for evening performances. Founded in San Juan by bass player/composer Gary Nuñez, Plena Libre is well into a 15-year voyage that has seen the orchestra re-invent the sound of Puerto Rico’s plena and bomba traditions.  During that time, Gary and his group have recorded 12 stellar albums which have garnered four Grammy nominations.  In taking their unparalleled live show to the world, the group has spread the gospel of their unique Afro-Rican sound. Get there early, throw a blanket on the ground or bring a low chair and settle in for a great summer evening of music. Guests can pack a picnic or purchase a Puerto Rican dinner from .

If you go: Adult advance tickets are $20 (by midnight the Friday before concert). Tickets at the door are $25 public / $20 JCC members, children 6–17: $5, and children 5 and under are free. The show starts at 7 p.m. (with doors opening at 6:15 p.m.) at the , 200 N. San Pedro Road in San Rafael.



The presents a scenic walk through the historic buildings of downtown San Rafael.  Guests will be treated to stories about the people, places and events that critically shaped the city.

If you go: Tickets for the tour are $10 for general admission, $5 for members of the Marin History Museum or Falkirk Cultural Center, and free to children ages 12 or under.  No reservation is necessary for the historic downtown walking tour. At the conclusion of the walking tour, guests may participate in a guided tour of the for an additional nominal fee. The tour is from 10 a.m. to noon beginning at the , 1125 B. Street in San Rafael.



Greg Johnson and Glass Brick Boulevard return to San Rafael for the second time in 2011.  Come join them in concert at the , and help launch the future home of The Radical Creative Center for the Arts. A very special guest performer will help us to say “Hello Marin, did you miss us?”

If you go: Suggested donation for adults is $15, students are $5.  The show is at 7 p.m. at  The Metropolitan, 27 Jordan Street in San Rafael.
