The left lane of eastbound I-580 has reopened after an earlier truck fire, according to the California Highway Patrol. Officials said the right lane remains blocked and will likely stay closed for an extended period of time to allow for clean up and removal of the vehicle.

MARIN COUNTY, CA – Both lanes of eastbound Interstate 580 on the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge were closed temporarily Thursday due to a truck fire west of the toll plaza, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The closure was announced shortly after 11 a.m. in an email alert. There is no estimated time for reopening the roadway, officials said.
