November Freebies: Sleigh Building, Scavenger Hunt and Storytime

Lots of free activities in the Tri-Valley and beyond for the family in November.

November Freebies: Sleigh Building, Scavenger Hunt and Storytime

Ready for some November freebies? Look no further than right here in the Tri-Valley!

Your budding carpenter can make and build a turkey napkin holder at Home Depot in San Ramon on Saturday, Nov. 3 from 9 a.m. to noon. Get there early, and your carpenter will get his or her own Home Depot apron and pin. They provide everything, including the free kits and tools to build!

Another carpentry project awaits with your pre-registration at Lowe’s. On Nov. 17, your child can build a sleigh, in time for St. Nick! Go here to register for this free workshop.

Start your November off at Lakeshore Learning in Walnut Creek for their free craft sessions each Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Nov. 3, participants will make a fall wreath for your house.

On Nov. 10, the slated craft project is a flying airplane. Lakeshore also has plenty of educational activities and toys out for your child to test — it’s a great way to watch your child and discover some of his or her educational interests — perhaps this could give some holiday gift giving ideas, too!

The San Ramon Library hosts it’s monthly family storytime on Saturday, Nov. 3 from 11:15 a.m. to noon. The librarian will read several books, and your child will make a fun and free Thanksgiving craft.

From Nov. 9 to 17, your child can go on a scavenger hunt with a crow-theme. This hunt happens for a week throughout the day at the San Ramon Library. Hunters will search around the library and earn a prize!

On Monday, Nov. 5 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., your animal lover can head to either the Danville Library or the Dougherty Station Library in San Ramon for “Paws for Reading,” where your reader can snuggle with an ARF dog and read to the animal.

On Nov. 13 from 4 p.m. to 4:50 p.m., head back to the Danville Library for Bingo Schmingo, who will have an hour of fun for children of all ages!

Whether you choose a building project with your child, free crafts, or even fun performances, there are so many free choices available!
