Jeremy Tyler Coming to Santa Cruz

Ex-Golden State Warrior signed by D-League affiliate

Jeremy Tyler Coming to Santa Cruz

The Santa Cruz Warriors have signed 6-foot-10 forward Jeremy Tyler.

Tyler spent all of last season and the majority of this season with the Golden State Warriors continuously being assigned to their D-League affiliate.

He started 23 games last season with Golden State and averaged 4.9 points and 3.3 rebounds per game. He played in just 20 games this season and his role diminished as the season continued.

On Feb. 21 Tyler was traded to the Atlanta Hawks for a future second-round pick by the Golden State Warriors. The Hawks released him on Mar. 13.

This season he averaged 15 points and eight rebounds in five games on assignment from the Golden State Warriors.

Before being drafted 39th overall in the 2011 NBA Draft by the Charlotte Bobcats, Tyler played overseas in Israel and Japan immediately out of high school.

The move comes at an odd time, because the Warrior's center combo of Mickell Gladness and Hilton Armstrong has been dominant during their six game winning streak. The big-men have combined for 35 blocks in those six games.
