Updated July 19
One Santee City Council seat and the position of Mayor are up for grabs in the November election and the candidate filing period is coming up.
The filing period begins July 16 at 8 a.m. and goes until August 10 at 5 p.m., or August 15, if the incumbent doesn't file.
Councilmember and Mayor currently occupy the positions open for election, and both have indicated their intent to run as incumbents.
$25,000 has been budgeted by the City of Santee for election costs in November.
Other local positions on the ballot include two seats, one that is currently unopposed by an incumbent, as won't be running, two Padre Dam seats, and a GUHSD seat.
For more information about filing as a candidate contact the City Clerk's Office at (619) 258-4100, Extension 114.
