Highway 9 Re-Opens After Overnight House Fire in Ben Lomand
Firefighters received a report of a blaze in the 6700 block of Highway 9 in the census-designated place of Ben Lomond at about 12:30 a.m.
Firefighters received a report of a blaze in the 6700 block of Highway 9 in the census-designated place of Ben Lomond at about 12:30 a.m., according to Calfire Battalion Chief Cody Dogan.
The residents of the two single-family homes impacted by the fire were safely out of the burning buildings prior to the arrival of firefighters, Dogan said.
Both homes, described as single-story homes with basements located about five feet apart from one another, were engulfed in flames. One home was declared to be a complete loss and the other was declared a partial loss, according to Dogan.
No injuries were reported but the fire displaced six people, Dogan said.
The blaze was brought under control by about 1:45 a.m. and the cause of the fire remains under investigation this morning, according to Dogan.
