By late summer, folks in South Pasadena will have another dining option on Mission Street.

Renovations are underway in the city's historic Edwards & Faw building, new home to Crossings Restaurant. Crossings is owned by Vintage Restaurant Concepts, founded by Patrick and Stephanie Kirchen of South Pas. The restaurateur tapped South Pas' own Kim Ziel of George Architecture to design the space. The architect is Anthony George.

On the architecture company's website, where you can see illustrations of what the finished product will look like, the floor plan is described as: "Downstairs is the main dining room, full bar, kitchen, restrooms, and an outdoor tree-shaded dining patio. Upstairs is a second dining room, full bar, and restrooms.''

City Manager Sergio Gonzalez said he is excited about and looking forward to the new restaurant's grand opening. He hopes the addition will make South Pas a "destination for fine food,'' he said.

The following message by the Kirchens may be found on the Crossings website:

We founded Vintage Restaurant Concepts in South Pasadena after finding the perfect building to open the restaurant of our dreams.

It is our vision to open a restaurant that people come home to, a place the community comes to enjoy a wonderful experience, to celebrate, to create memories.  It is our intention to become part of the foundation of the Mission Street District, celebrating the history and cultural heritage of South Pasadena.

Crossings, located at 1008 Mission, in a beautiful brick and mortar building built in 1923, will be our first adventure.  We hope you will join us in creating a beautiful place to enjoy life with family and friends.

According to the South Pasadena Review, the restaurant's fine dining menu will offer classic American cuisine: steaks, chops, seafood, and salads, with an emphasis on fresh ingredients.
