Police Looking for Two Men Who Got into Fight Outside El Sereno Food 4 Less

A search was continuing Monday for two men who got into an altercation with a group of people at an El Sereno supermarket, then ran down two of them in the store's parking lot.

The two suspects got into a fight with five other men inside the Food 4 Less store at Huntington Drive and Castalia Avenue at around 11:25 p.m. Sunday, according to Los Angeles police Officer Rosario Herrera.

The suspects had earlier been thrown out of the store by a security guard, but they returned, and the security guard witnessed the ensuing altercation, police said.

The two men left the market after the fight, got into a silver Honda Accord and drove to a remote part of the parking lot and waited for the other men to leave the market, police said. When the group of five people left the store, the driver of the Accord accelerated toward the group, striking two of them and leaving them with severe injuries, according to police.

The victims were identified as Arturo Rueles, 23, of Los Angeles, and Jesse Alvarez, 23, of Palmdale.

Anyone with information was asked to call Detective Michael Kaden or Officer Robert Palma of the Central Traffic Division at (213) 486-0750 or (213) 486-0754.
