Muni Bus Catches Fire, Briefly Closes Lane of Highway 101

No injuries were reported in the incident.

A San Francisco Municipal Railway bus caught fire this morning while traveling on southbound U.S. Highway 101, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The bus fire was reported shortly after 7:15 a.m. on southbound Highway 101 near the Cesar Chavez Street off-ramp in San Francisco, CHP officials said. The far right southbound lane of the highway was briefly blocked as a result of the fire.

The bus was eventually able to drive away and the lane reopened shortly before 8 a.m., according to the CHP. No injuries were reported in the incident. Muni officials were not immediately available to provide more details about the fire.
