The McGrath Family Values, Part 1 (VIDEO)

Meet the McGrath family that lived in Studio City for three generations.

This is a series of videos about the who grew up on a small cul-de-sac in Studio City just a few blocks from (that's what it was called then).

Mary McGrath has chronicled some of the family history in her column and Jack McGrath was a frequent contributor to Patch, but now he and his wife Pauline are moving north to Port Hueneme.

In a rare moment where five of the are together, Patch managed to get some of their stories in this series of funny videos about growing up in Studio City in the 1960s, '70s, '80s and '90s.

As Mary describes it:

Imagine eight people crammed into a 1,200-square-foot home. That was the McGrath clan, at 12022 Pacoima Court in Studio City. We shared our space with a dog, an occasional cat, some stray birds, lizards and whatever else we brought home from the gully.

Our numbers included two sets of twins. I guess this was the result of my parents' interpretation of the rhythm method, which obviously didn’t work very well. Our parents could barely afford one child, but six?

Lynn and Jack are twins. So are Mary and Teresa. "I'm four minutes younger and four minutes shorter," says Teresa. Their mom was a twin too, she died as a baby, though, of whooping cough. Aunt Jackie had twins, Dennis and Barbara. There was definitely twin genes in this family.
