The San Francisco 49ers season came to an end Sunday evening when they lost the NFC Championship game to the Seattle Seahawks. The final score was 23-17.
The 49ers led most of the game, but were shut out in the 4th quarter. The Niners handed over the ball three times on turnovers in the final period.
At a post game news conference, quarterback Colin Kaepernick took the blame for the loss, "I didn't play good enough to win. I turned the ball over three times. I cost us that game."
The team will start next season in its new home, Levis Stadium in Santa Clara, now nearing completion.
The Super Bowl will be played on Sunday, Feb. 2 at 3:25 p.m. PT. FOX, Channel 2, will air the game.
