Area's Hottest Dancers To Converge In Temecula Aug. 20

Temecula will be sizzling as dancers from around the region are expected to turnout for a “danceXchange” that promises to be very "open and inviting."

The 7 p.m. event takes place in the courtyard of the Old Town Temecula Community Theater at 42051 Main St. and is being touted as “our best yet, as multiple companies, from near and far, come together to celebrate dance under the big skies of Temecula.”

“The dance will be hot!” according to event organizers. California Ballet, under the direction of Maxine Mahone, is headlining the evening.

The showcase also features work from companies such as Counterpoint and Shift, Majesty Dancers, Alias Movement, Dunamix Dance Project, Driven Dancers, and Avocado Dance Theatre.

There is also new work being presented by freelance artists in dance: Val Carnahan, Kylie Kruger, and a world premiere of a dance installation by artist Aaron Shaw, according to organizers.

Local dancers of all backgrounds and experience levels are welcome to join the informal event that is both "informal and a supportive environment," according to organizers.

The danceXchange is presented every third Tuesday of every month at Old Town Temecula Community Theater and is presented by Dance Theatre Collective of Southern California and Temecula Presents.  For more information, go to  www.danceXchange.net.

Admission to the Aug. 20 event is $5.

If you would like to present at the danceXchange, email danceXchange.temecula@gmail.com.
