Concern Growing Among French Valley Residents About Inmates Released at Night
There is growing concern among residents who live near Southwest Detention Center in French Valley about the nighttime release of inmates who may not have immediate transportation arrangements, it was reported Saturday.

Three neighbors gathered 527 signatures on a petition regarding the matter and have submitted it to Riverside County officials, The Press-Enterprise reported.

Inmates can be released from the jail 24 hours a day, while public transportation ends at 7:30 p.m on weekdays and does not run on weekends, the newspaper reported.

Some residents are concerned that those without rides are instead loitering near local neighborhoods and businesses.
