Car Fire Turns Deadly In Wildomar Neighborhood
Two people were working on a vehicle when it caught fire near trees in Wildomar. One was pronounced dead at the scene.

WILDOMAR, CA — One person died and another was injured in a Wildomar vehicle fire Monday, Cal Fire/Riverside County Fire Department spokesperson Tawny Castro told Patch.
Two people were working on the car at the time the fire broke out, for as of yet unknown reasons, according to Castro. The identity of the victim was not immediately disclosed, and Cal Fire investigators and Riverside County Sheriff's Department remained at the scene.
Shortly after 12 p.m., a vehicle being worked on caught fire at a home in the 20600 block of Grand Avenue, near Black Ranch Road, she said.

Multiple engine crews were dispatched to the scene of the car fire, where flames were already raging in the vehicle as they arrived, threatening to spread into surrounding vegetation.
Ambulances were summoned for the victims, but one man perished at the scene, despite life-saving measures. The second victim declined medical transport, she said.

As of 12:40 p.m., the fire was fully contained, with no extension into the surrounding trees.
No structures were damaged during the incident.
Sheriff's deputies were investigating the cause of the deadly fire, and a county fire prevention officer was also requested to determine whether mishandling of combustible devices may have contributed to the blaze.
No other information was immediately available.
