Five Hospitalized in Winchester 'Mass Casualty' Wreck
Fire officials say a sixth person-- a juvenile-- was also involved in the collision.

Winchester, CA— Five people were hospitalized this week in a head-on crash in the Winchester area, fire officials reported Tuesday.
The crash was reported at 4:23 p.m. Monday at Scott and Leon roads, according to April Newman of the Riverside County Fire Department.
"The first arriving engine company reported one person trapped with a total of six patients, and declared the incident a mass casualty incident," Newman reported.

A total of three ambulances were sent to the scene and five people were ultimately transported to area hospitals with minor injuries, according to Newman.
"The sixth patient; who was a juvenile; was released to their parent on scene," she said.

The cause of the crash is under investigation by the sheriff's department.
