One Trapped in Head-On Temecula Crash

Police say a total of three vehicles were involved in the collision Tuesday afternoon, which shut down a local road for 4 hours.

TEMECULA, CA- A motorist was injured in a three-vehicle crash Tuesday in Temecula which led to an hours-long road closure.

The incident happened when the driver of a gray Audi crossed into oncoming traffic on Margarita Road, south of Santiago Road, and side-swiped a red Subaru before striking a white Buick head-on, Temecula police Sgt. Chad Loeffler said.

Officers dispatched to the scene at 2:41 p.m. found a total of three vehicles.

“Officers arrived on scene and found three vehicles involved with one driver trapped in his vehicle,” the sergeant reported. “Cal-Fire personnel responded and extricated the driver.”

That person was then rushed to the hospital for treatment. The other involved motorists declined medical help at the scene, he said.

An updated condition of the motorist was not immediately known.
