We're Inviting You to Remember Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

As we prepare to observe Martin Luther King Jr. Day this coming Monday, we're inviting you to share your thoughts about King's legacy and how the civil rights movement changed America on our board Remembering Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

The federal holiday, signed into law in 1983 by President Ronald Reagan, celebrates the Jan. 15 birthday of the civil rights hero who was assassinated April 4, 1968, at the age of 39.

A Baptist minister and Nobel Peace Prize winner, King used nonviolent civil disobedience to fight racial inequality, and may be best remembered for his landmark " I Have A Dream" speech, delivered during the 1963 March on Washington.

How has King's life and work affected you?

What struggles do we still face as a nation to overcome racial inequality?

How can we come together Monday—and every day—to make America a land of opportunity for all its residents, regardless of color?

How can we start that here in Temecula?
