Memorial Services for Zoe Inciong to be Held Next Week

The family of 16-year-old is welcoming the public to join them for the inspirational local teenager’s memorial services next week.

Zoe battled Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer, for nearly a year before succumbing to the illness just after midnight Thursday.

Viewings will be held Monday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday and Wednesday from 5 to 9 p.m. at , located at 32223 Cabello St. in Union City.

A funeral mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday, also at St. Anne’s, with the burial to follow immediately after at Holy Sepulchre Cemetary, located at 1051 Harder Rd. in Hayward.

The family requests that attendees wear blue for Zoe’s funeral.

“She loved the color blue,” Zoe’s mother, Maria Inciong, said. “Tiffany blue is her favorite shade, but any blue is fine.”

Zoe’s family is also asking that community members make donations to a charity of their choosing in lieu of flowers. Donations can also be made directly to Zoe’s fund, “,” to:

“She wanted to donate her money to a charity or create a scholarship to keep her spirit alive,” Maria Inciong said. “So Things Don’t Suck” fund was conceived as a means to help others with cancer and the family intends to continue with her wishes, she added.

Zoe was diagnosed with cancer last September. Though she had received treatment and blood transfusions, her condition began to worsen in recent months, Maria Inciong said.

Shortly before her passing, Zoe spent two days at Disneyland with her family through the Make a Wish Foundation.

She celebrated her 16th birthday on June 30 in her home with close family, with a big party on July 1 at Swiss Park in Newark. The party included surprise performances from popular YouTube sensation AJ Rafael.

Rafael had met with Zoe in December after a family friend reached out to his manager because Zoe was a big fan of the singer. He brought along singer Tori Kelly for the surprise visit on Sunday and spent the following day with Zoe.

“It was really nice,” Maria Inciong said.

Zoe passed away peacefully a few days later at 12:05 a.m. Thursday in her bedroom with her parents by her side, Maria Inciong said.
