Union City Man, 32, Arrested After Leading Police on Slow-Speed Pursuit
Police say Haroon Rafie collided with at least three vehicles in Oakland and led CHP officers on a slow-speed pursuit.
Haroon Rafie allegedly collided with at least three vehicles in Oakland and led CHP officers on a slow-speed pursuit that ended around 9 a.m. near the 23rd Avenue off-ramp from Highway 880 when his car came to a stop, CHP Officer Sean Wilkenfeld said.
Rafie was then allegedly combative with officers, who used a Taser stun gun on him and took him into custody, Wilkenfeld said.
Rafie was taken to a hospital and booked into jail on suspicion of felony evading police, multiple hit-and-run counts, resisting arrest and DUI, according to Wilkenfeld.
Wilkenfeld said investigators are also looking into whether Rafie struck two other cars in Hayward prior to the collisions in Oakland.
