City Council Looks At Fiscal Priorities

Walnut Creek council has retreat starting at 8:30 a.m. Friday at Assistance League office on Buena Vista Avenue.

City Council Looks At Fiscal Priorities

The City Council has scheduled a special meeting, a retreat, for 8:30 a.m. Friday, expected to last most of the business day.

The meeting is at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the Assistance League of Diablo Valley, 2711 Buena Vista Ave., Walnut Creek.

It's an opportunity to look at the city's mission globally, in this case with a discussion of fiscal sustainability strategic priorities, according to the meeting agenda.

City Council members will listen to staff presentations on 27 city services — categorized as regulatory, internal and community — including an estimate of how many residents are served by each program. "We will be asking each Council member to tell us whether these services are part of our future," states a memo from City Manager Ken Nordhoff (memo is attached to this story as a PDF).
