Diablo Hills Golf Course officials want to add 7,100 square feet to the current facility that houses The Greenery restaurant

Hearing Scheduled On Golf Course's Plans To Double The Size Of Its Clubhouse

The Walnut Creek Planning Commission will hold a hearing Thursday night on plans by the Diablo Hills Golf Course to more than double the size of its clubhouse/restaurant facility.

The plans call for adding 7,108 square feet to the existing 25-foot tall, 6,257-square-foot Greenery Restaurant and clubhouse on the 9-hole golf course near Heather Farm Park.

The plans call for the continuation of the live entertainment and dancing that is currently held in the establishment.

The facility sits on the 2.9-acre parcel at the front entrance of the golf course.

A planning department report states the expanded facility is not expected to cause any adverse litter, noise, parking or other problems.

Several proposed conditions are recommended by city planners. They include making sure customers don’t loiter in the parking lot after business hours, the prohibition of alcohol sales promotions such as ladies night and the restriction that alcohol sales cannot exceed food sales during any quarterly period.

The Planning Commission meeting begins at 7 p.m. Thursday in the council chambers at City Hall, 1666 N. Main St.
