A Holland Circle woman returned home to find a would-be motorcycle burglar poking around in her garage at 11:45 Friday night, police said.

The homeowner called police and followed the escaping burglar's vehicle. Walnut Creek police officers caught up with the flight vehicle in Pleasant Hill and arrested Kyle Gingras, 25, of Petaluma on residential burglary charges.

Gingras is being held at the Martinez Detention Facility with a bail of $50,000.

A series of residential burglaries has plagued the northwestern area of Walnut Creek (the Larkey area), according to a news release from Lt. Steve Gorski of the Walnut Creek Police Department. Residents are encouraged to contact the police department if they see suspicious activity in their neighborhood.
