Walnut Creek PD Adds Field Office to Shadelands, New Lease Signed
Other plans in motion for the area at Ygnacio Valley and Oak Grove roads. See the video ...

From Trisha Clayton:
Shadelands continues its transformation into an innovative, multi-use Walnut Creek community under the direction of the Shadelands Steering Committee, a group of owners and tenant representatives. Recent milestones include the addition of a Walnut Creek Police Department field office, a large new lease and soaring BART shuttle bus ridership.
In 2016, the Walnut Creek Police Department will open a field office in Shadelands. The field office will help provide a visible police presence in the Shadelands area and the surrounding neighborhoods. Once the field office is operational, officers working in the area will no longer have to drive back to City Hall to conduct business. This will result in lowered response times, a visible crime deterrent, and more efficient investigation of crimes. Although the field office will not be open to the public initially, signage and the increased presence of police vehicles will be noticeable as soon as the space is available. It is anticipated that police department volunteers will eventually open a public counter within the field office for several hours each week.
