The Hollywood Foreign Press Association on Thursday announced Francesca Eastwood is Miss Golden Globe 2013. A party at Cecconi's restaurant in West Hollywood provided the setting for the announcement.
The new Miss Golden Globe is the daughter of Clint Eastwood and actress Frances Fisher, according to the Golden Globes website. Honorees are usually the child of a celebrity, many of whom have gone on to stardom of their own.
"I am honored to have been chosen by the Hollywood Foreign Press to be Miss Golden Globe of 2013," Eastwood said in a statement. "I have watched the Golden Globes ceremonies since I was a little girl, and it means so much to me to be a part of one of Hollywood’s most illustrious events."
Eastwood, 19, has appeared in films with her parents since she was a young girl with credits that include True Crime and The Stars Fell on Henrietta. She currently co-stars in E!’s Mrs. Eastwood and Company with her step-mother Dina Eastwood and younger half-sister Morgan Eastwood.
Eastwood lives in Los Angeles and attends the University of Southern California.
The 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards will be seen worldwide Sunday, Jan. 13 at 5 p.m. Pacific Time on NBC. The event, which will be held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel and hosted by Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, recognizes achievements in both television and film.
