Tuesday's Scoop: Barter for Art at Barney's Beanery

Greetings, and welcome to today's City Scoop. Here's what's happening Tuesday in West Hollywood:

Art enthusists are encouraged to view the Perpetual Conceptual exhibition currently on display in consecutive storefronts at 8126-8132 Santa Monica Blvd., then bring their unqiue items to be bartered to Tuesday between 7 p.m. and 10 p.m. The event is presented by Los Angeles Nomadic Division and Corazon del Sol, Eugenia Butler Sr.'s granddaughter, in a tribute to Ed Kienholz's original barter show 43 years ago. RSVP is strongly recommended at rsvp@nomadicdivision.org and space is limited.

West Hollywood Women's Mastery Series

The free on-going program, co-sponsored by the West Hollywood Women’s Advisory Board and the West Hollywood Women’s Leadership Conference, is taking place in the Senior Lounge at from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The series' mission is to help women connect and thrive through educational and inspirational workshops, according to the event listing.

Book Discussion

As part of , a National Endowment for the Arts initiative, a PEN Center Emerging Voices fellow will lead a book discussion on selected themes of Fahrenheit 451 is the library's Community Meeting Room at 7 p.m. Admission is free. For more information, call 323-848-6883.

Human Services Commission Meeting

The Commission will receive presentations from AIDS Project Los Angeles, Aid for AIDS, Being Alive and PAWS/LA. New business includes preliminary plans for a community survey. The meeting is set for 6 p.m. in the Community Conference Room. The full agenda is available through the city's website here.

The Forecast

The National Weather Service forecasts mostly sunny, with a high near 67. West Hollywood will see calm wind becoming south around 5 miles per hour. Temperatures are expected to drop to around 47, and rain is expected mainly after 11 p.m. The chance of precipitation in the evening is 90 percent.
