Tourist, 69, Rescued From Boulder State Park After Medical Event
A hiker from Virginia was evacuated Monday after a medical emergency in the Eldorado Canyon State Park, the Boulder Sheriff's Office said.

BOULDER COUNTY, CO -- A visiting tourist hiker was evacuated from the Eldorado Canyon State Park Monday afternoon after suffering from a medical event during a hike on the Eldorado Trail.
Boulder emergency officials received a call around 12:13 p.m. that a 69-year-old male hiker, visiting from Virginia, "was having a medical condition and needed medical attention," a statement from the Boulder Sheriff's Office said. Family members had called the ranger station for help.
A family member was able to stay with the man until rescuers reached them, the statement said. The man was taken from the trail on a litter and taken to a local hospital.

Emergency personnel from Eldorado Canyon State Park, Rocky Mountain Fire District, Rocky Mountain Rescue Group and the Boulder County Sheriff’s Office participated in the rescue, the statement said.
