Denver Schools Evacuated: 'Smell of Gas' at 7 Schools
Seven schools, some sharing a campus, had evacuations with Denver PD. It's unclear if DPS is involved in metro biohazard drills today.

DENVER, CO -- Denver Public Schools sent out a series of tweets Wednesday announcing that seven different schools were being evacuated by students and staff due to "an overwhelming smell of gas." The schools listed were Abraham Lincoln High School, Johnson Elementary School, Kunsmiller School, Charles M. Schenck Community School, STRIVE Prep School, Compass Academy and Respect Academy. The district then announced all schools had been cleared.
It is unclear whether DPS was participating in the Department of Homeland Security's BioHazard Public Safety Drill which is in progress today and tomorrow.
