Car Fire Causes Temporary Shutdown of Berlin Highway
The southbound side of Route 9 was temporarily closed following the early afternoon fire Tuesday.

BERLIN, CT — A car fire on Route 9 caused heavy traffic delays early Tuesday afternoon.
The fully-involved fire just after the Christian Lane exit caused the complete shutdown of the southbound side of the highway around 1:30 p.m., the Berlin Volunteer Fire Department said on Twitter.
One lane was opened about 10 minutes after the closure, and the highway fully re-opened around 2:30 p.m.
