Local Representatives Say Thank You Local Representatives Say Thank You

To the editor:

Over the last month in Hartford a panel created by the governor’s administration has conducted a comprehensive assessment of how various utility companies and various agencies and organizations responded to the historic late October snowstorm that knocked out power throughout the state.

The bottom line: improvements are needed in several areas, from communication to the management of utility company resources.

But here’s one thing that doesn’t need tinkering with: the spirit of volunteerism that keeps our communities running in times of crisis. Over and over we saw that firm New England backbone throughout our neighborhoods, in our town halls and in our emergency shelters.

We’d like to extend a very grateful “thank you” to the many local businesses, individual volunteers and generous donors who provided resources, necessities, comfort and strength during those challenging days.

We’re proud to represent communities that top to bottom reacted so well to the storm, and we encourage you to consider our offices as resources in the future during similar situations.
