Branford was well-represented at the National Dance Team Championship, which was held at Walt Disney World on Feb. 2 and 3 with teams from both Branford High School and Walsh Intermediate School competing.

Branford High School

The BHS dance team entered the large varsity division for both jazz and hip-hop for the first time, competing against almost 50 of the best teams in the nation.

"They entered the hardest division at nationals and placed in the top half – that's a huge accomplishment for their first time competing at the large varsity level at Nationals," said Jackie Dunn, who coaches the team with Jaqui Montano and Megan Palluzzi. "They had perfect performances. Props to them for facing so many of the best high school dance teams in the country."

You can check out Branford High School's  hip-hop routine in the large varsity division as well as the Hornets' performance in the  Large Varsity A Jazz Semifinals.
