2-Alarm Fire Damages Bridgeport Apartment: Fire Officials

The Friday morning fire was reported on Fairfield Avenue.

BRIDGEPORT, CT — Bridgeport firefighters extinguished a two-alarm fire early Friday in the 1000 block of Fairfield Avenue, according to officials.

No injuries were reported in the 4:30 a.m. fire, in which flames were visible as firefighters arrived on-scene. The blaze was quickly upgraded to a second alarm, and Bridgeport firefighters received mutual aid from the Fairfield and Stratford fire departments.

The fire was contained within a first-floor apartment, and that occupant is being assisted by the American Red Cross to find temporary housing.
