The 30th State Senate District is a faceoff between an incumbent state rep. from another district and a Connecticut attorney.

Update 12 a.m. Nov. 7:

State Rep. Clark Chapin garnered over 61 percent in Brookfield (4,905 votes) in the race for the 30th Senate District. Democrat William Riiska had just under 39 percent (3,122 votes), losing by 1,783 votes.

The 30th District also includes the towns of Canaan, Cornwall, Goshen, Kent, Litchfield, Morris, New Milford, North Canaan, Salisbury, Sharon, Torrington, Warren, Washington and Winchester. Brookfield Patch will update this article when results are in from the entire district.

State Rep. Clark Chapin (R-67) is giving up his seat in the 67th District to run for the 30th District State Senate seat being vacated Roraback. Chapin faces Democratic challenger William Riiska, an attorney with a firm in Lakeville.
