Brookfield Democratic Town Committee Elects New Leadership

Eileen Straiton was elected Chair of the Brookfield Democratic Town Committee among the newly designated 35 person committee.

BROOKFIELD, CT-- The Brookfield Democratic Town Committee elected new officers at its March 10 meeting. For the next two years, these individuals will lead the growing Democratic Party in town, where they’ve seen an up-rise in membership and involvement since their overwhelming victory this past November.

Eileen Straiton was elected Chair among the newly designated 35 person committee. Eileen comes to the Democratic Town Committee after serving previously as Co-Chair of Brookfield Parent Alliance, a political action committee formed to educate parents and residents on the ongoing political issues that face the community.

Eileen, a dedicated community advocate, has lived in Brookfield for 16 years with her husband and four daughters. She and her husband are owners of a manufacturing business in Danbury and Eileen also writes early childhood curriculum out of her home office. Previously, Eileen has held corporate marketing and advertising positions at organizations such as GE Capital, EVOTE.com, Madison Direct Marketing and BrannWorldwide. She brings with her solid skills in business management as well as a true passion for the community she will serve.

Over the last few years residents of all affiliations have come together and worked hard toward creating a Brookfield we can continue to be proud of. I am excited to be part of that continued progress and I promise to do my best to continue to bring our community together and lead with integrity and a clear vision for a better Brookfield.”

Ron Jaffe was re-elected Vice Chair after many years of service. Ron moved to Brookfield 18 years ago with his wife and two daughters. He has been an active town resident and member of the Brookfield DTC previously serving on the Board of Education, Board of Finance, Charter Revision Commission, Brookfield Cares, brookfielddemocrats.org Paid for by the Brookfield Democratic Town Committee – Christina Zimmerman Treasurer, High School Renovation Committee and many other volunteer positions in town. Ron has a degree in music composition. He also has an extensive corporate background in marketing and publishing which he uses in his independent design work.

Robert Marconi was elected to a newly created Vice Chair for State and National Affairs position. For almost 24 years, Robert has been an Assistant Attorney general for the state and is a veteran of the US Air Force. Robert and his wife have raised two daughters and have lived in Brookfield for 26 years. Robert graduated from Yale University, the University of Connecticut School of Law and Georgetown University Graduate School.

Also elected were Christina Zimmerman as Treasurer, and Eileen Koch as Secretary.

The Brookfield Democratic Town Committee meets the second Thursday of every month at Whisconier Middle School. All interested Democrats are invited to attend.
